Step 2 - Design. As a designer, I strongly believe that every design is unique, and I always start with sketching. Drawing is the foundation of my creative process, as it inspires new ideas and allows me to explore various options. Before delving into computer-generated 3D work, it's essential to go through this drawing phase. By doing so, I ensure that I've captured and refined the most creative and original ideas before moving onto the next stage of the design process.
Step 3 - 3D Visualization. After completing the hand-drawn design, the next step is to move into 3D visualization. By using 3D software, I can effectively communicate complex designs in a clear and visually compelling way. One of the benefits of 3D visualization is that it allows for easy revisions and changes of materials, ensuring that the final product meets the client's needs and vision. The 3D model is scaled and accurate, providing an accurate representation of the house and property. Additionally, the model is detailed to showcase the design in the best way possible, bringing the project to life before it's even built.
Step 4 - Construction documents and drawings. Once revisions are complete and the conceptual design is finalized, I use AutoCAD software to create detailed plans for the project. These plans are an essential tool used to communicate every aspect of the project, ensuring that everyone involved in the process is on the same page. In addition to being used for HOA submittals, these plans are also used by contractors to build the project. Each set of plans includes a site plan with material callouts, detailed construction drawings and elevations, a planting plan and schedule, and a lighting plan and schedule. These plans provide a comprehensive guide for every aspect of the project, ensuring that the final product meets the client's vision and exceeds their expectations.
Step 5 - Construction is where the design truly comes to life, and it's one of the most exciting parts of the process! As a designer, I'm happy to be involved in as much of the installation as you want. From overseeing the correct installation to sourcing materials and plants and keeping things on budget, I'm here to help make the construction process as smooth and enjoyable as possible. By being involved in the installation, I ensure that every detail of the design is executed as planned, resulting in a final product that meets your vision and exceeds your expectations.
Step 6 - Completion marks the end of a fulfilling journey, from our initial on-site meeting, through the design and construction phases, to the realization of your dream yard. As a designer, it's incredibly satisfying to witness a concept come to life, and I take immense pride in delivering a finished product that exceeds your expectations.
